100 Words a Day, let’s go! So, the challenge is to take a randomly generated prompt and write the first thing that comes into my head. Easy enough. But there’s a catch – I have 100 words, no more and no less.

He couldn’t breathe. It reminded him of being up on a mountain, of the altitude stealing the oxygen from his lungs. But this was different.
A simple retreat would not be enough to return the breath that had been stolen from him.
There was a commotion above him and he fought to discern the voices. They were so faint! Something told him that that was a bad sign. It should not be so hard to hear.
A shadowy figure bent over him and then suddenly, shockingly, there was pain.
He blinked and the figure came into focus. She was crying.
