Inspiration is a funny thing. It’s a bit like a cat in that you must pay attention to it immediately upon its arrival lest it begin to sulk and disappear to hide.
Inspiration comes from many things – a beautiful sight or scent, a scene that begins to take form in the back of your mind quite without your permission, a phrase. Sometimes even a single word is enough to ignite that spark within you, to allow art to begin to form.
I’ve never been able to explain inspiration. All I know is that I’m blessed to have it – even if I’d prefer that it sometimes arrived at better times rather than making me dash around frantically for a pen or keyboard in the most ridiculous settings.
