Thank You

To the doubters, thank you. To the people who tried to change me, thank you. To the people who’ve been awful, been dismissive, been rude, thank you.

Thank you to everyone who’s shaped me into the person I am now. You may not have intended it to benefit me – you almost certainly didn’t intend for your words and your actions to result in me becoming the me I am right now.

Nonetheless, I am grateful. So, thank you. Thank you for every terrible thing that’s only resulted in me digging my heels in that much harder.

Thank you also and far more to the people who’ve supported me, the people who’ve been there during dark moments when I’ve needed someone to lean on. Thank you for your care and empathy. I love you all dearly.

Thank you, one and all, for your contribution to my life. It may not have been long, it may not have been great. But it did make a difference. So, thank you. You’re part of the reason that I’m here today.

And I wouldn’t trade that for the world.
