Procrastination is a motivation killer. It’s something I’ve become all too familiar with. I hate procrastination and I think fondly on the days before I began to procrastinate – the time before I was around ten, I believe.
There are ways around procrastination – it is, in fact, possible to procrastinate doing something productive by doing something else productive. I have found myself procrastinating cleaning by studying and the opposite.
The best way to fight against procrastination, however, is to force yourself to simply spend 5 minutes on whatever you’re procrastinating before you abandon it again. If you’re like me, you’ll just keep going because it’s too annoying (or even too much effort) to move on before you finish.
I generally reward myself for finishing all the tasks on my to-do list with something small like chocolate or a book.
How do you fight procrastination?
